NEW at GLADL!! Virtual VITA from the Capital Area United Way and AIC — Volunteer Income Tax Assistance
Free tax help is available for individuals or families with $55,000 or less in income. Capital Area United Way (CAUW) now offers tax help at our Main library location on Thursdays from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Please call the library at 517-627-7014 to schedule an appointment.
Virtual VITA uses technology to connect tax payers with critical tax preparation free of charge without requiring them to be present with a preparer and wait at a traditional site. Virtual VITA volunteers assist the client with filling out the intake forms and scan the necessary tax documents. Virtual VITA can reach populations and areas where having a traditional site is not practical.
For more information please visit https://www.micauw.org/free-tax-help. If you have questions on what documents you will need, please contact CAUW by email at email@example.com or by phone at 517-256-1466.
Can’t make it to GLADL at this time, please call 211 to request an appointment for tax help at one of VITA’s other sites.
Please note: Library staff are happy to help patrons locate and print tax forms, however, they are unable to provide tax advice.
